Tsunami Warning System Planned for Mediterranean Region

Coordination group plans to have system in place by December 2007

Experts and delegations from 23 countries of the Mediterranean and Northeast Atlantic laid the foundations for a regional tsunami early warning system at a meeting in Rome November 22.  more

U.S. Provides Grant to Indonesia for Tsunami Warning System

Grant will help country integrate, modernize disaster management programs

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USDTA) has awarded a $650,000 grant to Indonesia to provide strategic, technical and operational assistance to implement the design of an emergency communications warning system, according to a September 22 USTDA press release.  more
